That’s me on December 13th, about to run the longest distance I’ve ever run at once – 6.2 miles, a 10k. Having un-medicated exercise-induced asthma, I was just hoping to finish with a pace of 15 minutes a mile, but I impressed myself and ran an 11:37 pace! I never fancied myself a runner (well, technically a jogger, given my pace), but I decided to sign up anyway. I’ve done quite a few things this year I didn’t think I’d do: gone to Iceland, eaten whale, eaten rotten shark meat (on purpose), gotten engaged, gotten below 150lbs again, signed up for my last semester of college classes, got my blood drawn with no drama, signed up for boot camp, ran a 10k, tried Bikram yoga and LIKED IT, invited my parents to my wedding (still not sure about that one), and got spit on by a grumpy puffer fish. Now, add “started a blog” to that list. I was hoping to also be able to add “got below 120lbs” to this, but given how weak my will power has been this holiday season, that’s not likely to happen. Damn you, Christmas goodies!
